Rolling4Reading™ collects new and gently-used children's books then distributes them--on skateboard--to children in need.
Our mission is to inspire children to fall in love with books, and inspire those with plenty of books to share their wealth with others.
Books are generously donated by publishers, book reviewers, literacy groups, book clubs, and anyone else who believes that books have the power to inspire children and bring magic to their lives.
Rolling4Reading™ kicked off at the first Mighty Mama Skate-O-Rama, Sunday, May 9, 2004 (Mother's Day) at the Laguna Niguel Skatepark in Laguna Niguel, California. Our first distribution took place in Uptown Manhattan in New York City where 100 children received brand new books thanks to a generous donation by G.P. Putnam's Sons.
