The inaugural MMSOR took place on Mother's Day 2004. Nineteen women rolled with us that day, including 80-year-old Liz Bevington.
Since then, the skateboard moms have gathered in many places around the country including New York City, Washington D.C., Newburyport, MA, and of course our home base of Orange Co., Calif.
The events are for fun--and for fundraising. Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit group, Skateboard Moms, Inc., raises money for children's literacy. And our Rolling 4 Reading™ program delivers new and gently-used books to kids in need. Books are delivered via skateboard.
